Finca Bonellis Eagle is located in a canyon behind the town of Crevillente, it is ideally located for visits to El Hondo near San Felipe, a large wetland area and home to the globally threatened Marbled & White-headed Duck and Purple Gallinule, several hundred pairs of Collared Pratincole usually breed here.
Clot de Galvany a large scrub area with smaller amounts of wetland close to Gran Alicante, another excellent site for Marbled & White-headed Duck and Purple Gallinule, Southern and Woodchat Shrikes and passing migrants including Subalpine Warbler and wintering Bluethroat.
Salinas de Santa Pola a large area of working salt extraction, an excellent site for Egrets including Great White Egret, Purple Heron, Spoonbill, Greater Flamingo, Marsh, Hen & Montagu's Harrier, Booted Eagle, Osprey, Black-winged Stilt, Kentish Plover, Avocet, Sandwich, Little and Whiskered Terns.
Mediterranean, Slender-billed & Audouin's Gulls are usually present.
La Mata a large salines near Torrevieja surrounded by scrub, numerous pairs of Slender-billed Gulls and Avocet nest on an especially created island, with a remote controlled camera operated from the visitor centre. Waders include Black-winger Stilt, Stone Curlew, Kentish Plover, Little Stint and Curlew Sandpiper. The scrub area supports good numbers of Hoopoe, Short-toed & Crested Larks, Southern Grey & Woodchat Shrike, Red-rumped Swallow and Black-eared Wheatear. Large numbers of Black-necked Grebe are present in winter.
